I feel fortunate to have gotten a ticket and support from my company to attend the Microsoft 2013 Professional Developer Conference (PDC) also known as BuildWindows. It is in San Francisco this year at the Moscone Center. I attended to 2011 Build Conference in Anaheim, California. It was full of Rock Stars of the development world.
I have worked on IT projects for a long time now, and feel I might have something to say about them. Some of my peers already have done this: starting and running their own blogs. I finally took the plunge. I purchased my own domain name, benbutzer.com. It seems prudent that I should own it, and not another Ben Butzer. I chose WordPress, as it seems to be the top blogging tool available. It was easy to set up through my hosting reseller.
I long delayed this move figuring that I would like to keep private, and did not want to share my thoughts with friends, co-workers, relatives, and the rest of the world, but there is a certain amount of prestige in it. Also, anyone who knows me already knows my stories. I get contacted from time to time for help with IT issues, and I thought by writing up some of them, I might save some time and help someone along the way. Also my memory for solved problems was never good, so it might be helpful to collect some of the IT issues I have worked through in a spot where others can see them.
